Next Generation trials new weight loss scheme

Next Generation clubs - Dartford and Carlton in London - have taken up Novo, a new weight management programme from Immogenics.

The bespoke programme is based on the theory that we gain or lose weight depending on our immune response to foods and the fact that any adverse immune response impacts on our ability to convert food and stored fat into energy. Immogenics believes Novo can reduce body weight by as much as 10% in five weeks without reducing calorie intake.

Novo takes a small blood sample from each client and using laser screening, makes a detailed analysis of that individual's immune response to 115 common foods. The client then receives a bespoke diet programme based on eliminating those foods that cause the "greatest interference" with their immune system. By reducing or eliminating these, individuals will be able to convert stored fat into energy more efficiently so losing weight and increasing energy levels.

No Hunger

"Novo is all about using energy efficiently, rather than restricting energy intake in the form of calories. There is no need to go hungry, eliminate whole food groups like carbohydrates or laboriously calculate calorie intake and expenditure. This allows everyone to still eat a healthy and balanced diet," says Clare Dogshon, consultant nutritionist.

Next Generation endeavours to adopt an individual approach to the planning and designing each Club, to ensure that they are distinctive and suited to the local area, according to head of marketing Patrick Coote. "In the Novo programme, we recognise a product that is tailored to the individual. This will allow us to offer each of our members a bespoke programme that matches their individual requirements."
